Happy 4th of July!

Waiting for the Hingham parade to start. Really gorgeous day!

Unfortunately, I thought I was changing the format of the camera’s memory drive, but instead reformatted the darn thing so I wiped out the parade pictures. It was fun, though. There were clowns, scouts, ball players, old firetrucks, a kazoo band, school bands, and old cars.

We did get some of the Plymouth fireworks…

1st Memorial Day Weekend in CT

So busy! It kicked off with Friday evening’s recital rehearsal for my daughter. Then my cousin and her boyfriend made it (ON TIME) to the house and we had a quick bite to eat (Peter’s Market has good food!) before we got Maddy ready for the recital at Wilton High School. WZR survived the 3 hours of dances (most of them). Maddy did well.

Afterwards, we went to the Weston Fair and went on rides. Maddy had a blast! When we got home, the grill was fired up and we had steaks and lamb chops for dinner. Sunday kicked off with a trip to Compo Beach (very quiet) and then to Bombay Cuisine for an excellent spread for a lunch buffet. We said goodbye to my cousin and boyfriend, and the kids took naps. Although it thundered and rained a little, Maddy and her daddy went back to the fair to go on more rides. It was a late night for everyone. Monday morning, we rushed to the meeting place for the town parade and went nuts looking for the Weston Soccer Club banner.

IMG_3770Found it and waited for the parade to start. Turns out most of the town marches in the parade, so I joined them with WZR. We didn’t wait for the food and refreshments, courtesy of the Fire Dept (all volunteers), but did walk through the fair, played at the playground, and then got in the car. No nap for Maddy, but we did get ready for the Joyces for a play date and bbq. A good time was had by all, but I think we need a vacation now.

Check out this (as delicious as it looks) cookie that one of the moms in Mads’ ballet class made for the girls’ last day of class!
