Swinging at Putnam Memorial State Park in Redding, CT

Look how high the swing set is!

After spending almost 2 hours at the Mark Twain Library book sale, we enjoyed our picnic at the Putnam Memorial State Park right in Redding, CT. It was a beautiful day, especially in the shade. There are picnic tables and grills available for use. There are also swings that have the potential to go VERY high up. I even enjoyed my ride as I was showing Mads how to kick her legs. There is also wildlife to explore down by the pond, or just on your skin if you don’t wear bug spray! There were quite a few dogs being walked, and WZR got a kick out of seeing them from afar. A woman just parked, brought her chair by the pond, and enjoyed a good book. In the fall, or with an earlier start, it will be nice to take a hike through the woods or visit the museum. The visitor’s center looks really nice, too, so if you need to cool off I’m sure they wouldn’t mind.
