or why he sleeps the whole way there, but cries/whines incessantly on the way home when everyone is tired and at wit’s end. If I did, I’d be a millionaire. Sometimes kids cry because they’re tired and they can’t fall asleep. Maybe they’re hungry. Could be that they just don’t want to sit strapped in a car seat. I don’t know. None of the toys interested him; one by one they got tossed – one even landed by the driver’s foot. Short of just unbuckling him and holding him on my lap in the front seat, all I was able to do was exercise my facial muscles and make goofy expressions, hoping that he could see them in glow of he GPS. Then that got old. Miraculously, a book made him giggle for a short while, but then he was back to being fussy. Wow, that was a long 90-minute ride. We did get to see friends and visit my family in a neighboring state, though.

Do you have a DVD player? If not, may need to buy a portable one! Of course, eventually they start fighting over what to watch!

Mads was asleep so I didn’t want to put on the DVD player and he’s not really into TV, yet. I also sang nursery rhymes, played peek-a-boo…sometimes kids just want to fusssssss…
