Bubbles n' Cups

Hey, there!

My love for books started when I worked in a NYC bookstore called WordSmith in the basement of World Trade Center. I absolutely loved browsing the titles and ringing up the customers.I started devouring books and wondered why I used to shove my library books under my bed until it was time to return them. Unfortunately, I read very few books for leisure throughout college. During my two years of training for my profession, I read a few more. The list of read books grew longer when I lived in Boston (great public library and bookstores like Buck-a-book and Brattle Book Shop); I even went to book group discussions at the library. My accrual of library fines prompted me to pick up used books so I could read at my own pace. When I moved back to NYC and rediscovered Strand bookstore, library book sales, and the book barn in CT, the bookcases became overflowed and the bedskirt was my new best friend. Then I was referred to Bookins.com, Bookmooch.com, and Librarything.com; all hell broke loose. The movers shook their heads at the 50+ boxes of books that my husband and I had. We have built-ins in our house now and even with my own 500+ book inventory, we still hit library book sales and thrift shops. Our 3 year-old daughter is starting to get into them, too.

So, one day my dream will come true. Until then, I’m just gathering my materials…
